IV vitamin therapy

What is IV therapy?

  • IV Therapy is a simple medical technique designed to introduce fluids, medicine and nutrition directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract where nutrients are often poorly absorbed.
  • IV therapy is an emerging method in preventive and integrative health care.

Our treatments are focused on supporting body function including:

  • uplifting and maintaining general health
  • supporting immune function
  • improving cognitive function
  • increasing metabolic function
  • reducing stress receptors
  • improving serotonin uptake (happy hormone)

Why is IV therapy effective?

While good nutrition and hydration is something we must all aim for naturally in our daily diet, sometimes we can’t fully absorb our nutrients.

Patients who’ve had gastric surgery, are having chemotherapy, are training for serious sporting events or are battling illness are just a few types of people who could benefit from balancing their vitamins or amino acids with a little extra help.

Because of its direct administration it has a high level of nutrient absorption. It’s fast acting and is tailored to suit individual needs.

CosMedic Collective is a licensee of IV League Drips.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole bloodcentrifuged to remove red blood cells. We take a small amount of blood from your arm and spin out the platelets in our very own centrifuge while you wait. We then reintroduce directly into your dermis to stimulate fibrinogen and collagen production or into the hair follicle to stimulate growth.

Is PRP new? Platelet Rich Plasma was first used in cardiac surgery in 1987 to improve post-operative healing. It has a variety of uses including skin rejuvenation and treatment of hair loss.

Is it safe? Cosmetic PRP is a simple and safe procedure. Most patients will have some subtle redness at the completion of the procedure and the only real potential ‘complication’ may be mild swelling or bruising that may last three to seven days. Because the PRP is extracted from your own blood, there is no risk of disease transmission, allergic or immune reaction. As with all cosmetic and medical procedures, there are certain health conditions that will exclude patients.

Does it hurt? A local anaesthetic cream or gel is used to numb the skin. A very fine needle is used to inject the PRP and the injection itself may be slightly uncomfortable. As the PRP injection is intended to produce an inflammatory and healing response, most patients can expect the injected area to feel slightly tender and warm for the first day after the procedure. Please note that no ice, steroidal, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (eg. Nurofen, Ibuprofen) should be used for 7 days post procedure as it can interfere with the healing response.

Are all PRP systems the same?

No! We are passionate about bringing the highest quality, highest clinical grade equipment into our new clinic.

Our  Alocuro device produces PRP in line with the recommended levels and can provide a concentration up to 10 times normal concentration levels if required.

teeth whitening

microneedling

Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin. Sound appealing? Not so much. But this minimally invasive treatment is virtually painless, has minimal downtime and is incredibly effective. The micro-injuries it creates stimulates the body’s natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production, therefore reversing as well as preventing signs of ageing.

Aftercare

DON’T USE SKIN PRODUCTS CONTAINING ‘ACTIVE INGREDIENTS’
The microneedling procedure will leave your skin in a highly sensitive state, so it is recommended that you avoid all skin care products that contain any kind of ‘active ingredients’ such as retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids and Vitamin C.

You can incorporate these products back into your regime 3-5 days after your treatment, or as recommended by your experienced therapist.

AVOID USING MAKEUP AFTER THE TREATMENT
Don’t apply any kind of makeup for at least 24 hours to 48 hours after the procedure as it’s important to allow your skin barrier to heal over.

Using make up brushes can irritate the open skin, and if there’s any bacteria on the brushes you run the risk of developing a skin infection.

AVOID ACTIVITIES OR SITUATIONS THAT MAKE YOU SWEAT
A microneedling procedure will cause heat in the skin as a natural stage of healing. If you sweat or partake in any activities that make you hot, it will create further unwanted heat in the skin. It may also allow bacteria to penetrate the skin. This can lead to infection, extended redness or an adverse skin reaction.

DON’T TAKE ANY ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDICATIONS
Prior to and immediately after microneedling procedures you should avoid the use of anti-inflammatory medications, such as Ibuprofen, as they will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is needed for optimum skin rejuvenation.

USE A GENTLE CLEANSER
In place of active products a very mild cleanser and barrier cream is recommended to keep your skin clean and soothe any resultant dry skin and flakiness. We can advise on the best kinds of cleansers, moisturisers and healing products to use to avoid irritation.

DON’T FORGET TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
Keeping well hydrated will assist in faster healing and skin rejuvenation.

ONCE THE SKIN HAS HEALED, DON’T FORGET BROAD SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN
While it’s important to give the sunscreen a miss for the first few days following the procedure, we do advise that you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen once your skin has healed, to prevent unwanted pigmentation and sun damage.

excessive sweating

Botulinum Toxin has become a widely recognized treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), and is TGA approved. To treat severe underarm sweating, the product works by blocking the secretion of the chemical that activates sweat glands. The more units injected, the longer the drying effects tend to last.

Dosage

Approx 100 units/side (Products B/X) or 200 units/side (Product D).

Aftercare

There are little to no aftercare considerations for underarm treatment.

Vitamin B12 Injections

Vitamin B12 is an important water-soluble vitamin needed for the production of red blood cells, repairing body tissues, and the proper functioning of the nervous system. Our body can’t produce B12, so we need to get it from our diet.

It’s primarily naturally found in animal-based foods such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy, although some foods are fortified with B12.

As vitamin B12 isn’t found in plant foods, strict vegetarians and vegans are at high risk of deficiency, especially if they don’t eat foods fortified with the vitamin, or don’t use a supplement.

People with conditions that affect nutrient absorption are also at risk. Even if they eat enough foods containing vitamin B12, if their body can’t absorb this vitamin, they may become deficient. Common conditions that interfere with nutrient absorption are Coeliac Disease and Crohn’s disease.

Vitamin B -12 is an excellent way to boost your immunity and energy.

hifu

HIFU Stands for ‘High Intensity Focused Ultrasound’, this treatment can target various depths of the body’s tissue for skin tightening, skin lifting and body contouring. Entirely non-invasive, HIFU works by targeting deep layers in the skin – it boosts new collagen production and collagen regeneration right at the source.

HIFU treatment for the face works as a non-invasive facelift. It tightens the skin, irons out wrinkles, shrinks pores, targets the ‘V’ line formation and reduces the jowl lines. HIFU improves overall skin tone, pores, brightness and elasticity. It is sometime called the ‘Lunchtime Face Lift’ as the treatment is quick, very tolerable and has no downtime.

HIFU treatment for the body uses HIFU energy that works to target the fat layer and destroy fat cells. HIFU is ideal for body contouring love handles, inner & outer thighs, bra lines, post pregnancy tummy, abdomen fat, arm wings, thighs and under the buttocks; for a non-surgical bum lifting effect. It can even tighten the skin on the knees, abdomen and arms, helping to improve the ‘crepey’ look. HIFU is a very effective treatment for both inch loss and fat loss – at the same time tightening the skin!
